Perhaps they are trying to maintain the cachet of the brand? Not all companies are aiming for pile them high, sell them cheap I guess

I'm sure they sell lots of bikes in Germany. Maybe their business model has shown that the profits associated with setting up a sales outlet and all that entails in the UK render it not worth it, at least currently

Well you would think the costs in savings from not having a shop means that they can pass on higher quality bikes for the price. There are some MTB manufacturers that work in the same way, it's a pain that you cannot try one unless you go to Germany. That said there is also a waiting list.

Just thinking how much they must lose in sales with not having anywhere to try them or at least look at them! It is indeed a gamble buying an unseen bike off t'internet.
