I'm going to be staying for a week close to Tarbes and within driving distance of the tour in the Pyrennees this year. This will be my first time seeing the tour apart from the prologue in London a few years ago. we will probably get to see the tour finish on Tuesday 20th in Pau. We would also really like to see the stage on 22nd from Pau to the top of the Tourmalet, preferably on the mountain. I realise that the west side of the Tourmalet will be closed all day but does anyone know what the status of the road on the east side will be. Will it be open or kept reserved for tour vehicles? If both sides are closed do we have any chance of seeing any action towards the summit arriving on the day?
