Hi everyone I was wondering anyone out there could give me more info on my bike. It is a Slovenian Rog touring bike dated around 1954-1970 if anyone has any more information about this bike that would be great. As you can see by my pictures I do use this bike on occasions to take my little one out for a cycle.

Nice find. How did you come by it? I know probably about as much as you about it. It looks in nice condition for its age.
it looks like the brand may be resurrected:

Im a little worried about the position of that child seat, it looks very high which will increase the centre of gravity and may make the bike unstable in certain situations. Is there any way to bring it down?

Welome to the forum.

It looks to have a spoon brake and a coaster brake. Strange fork blades, are they round section?

It was given to me by a family member (in-laws) she is an absolute beauty to ride. Yes baby seat a little high I only had it on for a day, it's back on my everyday rider now my Chris Boardman CX!! From what I have researched she is dated to be around 1954. Just researching all the components now. Many thanks for the reply.

Regards

Richard.

Is that rod down the front some kind of brake mechanism? I can't see what is actually doing the braking!

Yes there is a rubber stopped on the end of it which is then pressed down on the front wheel. Not the best of brakes but with the coaster brake on the back you feel safe enough!!

Yes she has spoon brake at the front and coaster on the back. What do you mean by round section on the front forks?

Kind regards

Richard

I did find this timeline which helped me out a little about finding out more about my bike. Just if anyone else was interested.

Round-section blades are usually for track machines, oval for road bikes. From the photo they look possibly round. Just interested.

This bike is a real beauty, does it have gear hub with the date on ?
I have a soft spot for the old Rogs, managed to buy a couple of old rog pony's on eBay for £60, after a bit of love they're like new. They had all original parts, really nippy bikes gave myself a but of a scare when I test rode them before replacing the tyres and brake pads....lesson learned stay on the flat don't get carried away lol
