I picked up a rockhopper off of FB marketplace for 25 bucks..it rides but I can't get the front derailleur to even move.i tried soaking it in PB blaster to try to get the spring loosened up and when I turn the adjustment screws it won't move either.It has the biopace rings on it can I use any 3x7 derailleur on it?i at least want to get it on the middle chainring,the lower one is getting annoying.

Nice bike. Used to have one. This should do the job for you;

Out of stock but you should be able to pick one up somewhere.
Replace the inner and outer cables whilst you're about it too.
You need to get it much closer to the outer chain wheel than in your pic, just so the blade of a flat screwdriver can slide in.

Hey...thanks I've been looking on the DR and there are no markings.I plan on restoring it,I like how it rides and it's a large frame.. actually the first bike in awhile I'm actually comfortable on.
