We have just found out that our contract ended 2 months ago, and we still get our usual contract stuff but its now on a rolling month by month thing..............I have never heard of a rolling month by month thing or contract.

Can we now get rid and go with sky or any other provider or are we still tied to virgin for another month as we have just paid again.

I think you have to give one months notice in writing. But I have done it by phone with Vodafone before.
But the months notice Is pretty standard, then you're free to walk away and go with whoever you like.

Yes., rolling month means that you only need a months notice to cancel broadband with them

Phone them and tell them that your thinking of leaving and going over to sky. You may get an incentive to stay, we did.

We've been with then since they were cable and wireless then NTL! And got less for the money than a new customer who'd never paid them a penny before. I had a little rant with them and got a few upgrades and freebies.

When we had virgin, if we had a problem they would say it's BT's fault. BT would say it's Virgins fault. Back and forth we'd go. Now I'm with BT. Any problem, it's BT's fault simples. No arguing. No sending me here there and everywhere.

We recently changed from BT to Sky for broadband, purely based on price. It's been as good if not faster than BT so far(3 months now) fibre optic, for a third of the price.
Sky tv is a severe rip-off, but the sport coverage is unrivalled; that's what we have it.
Just as a side note, my daughter had Virgin media a couple of years ago and the customer service was awful throughout the whole contracted time.

That's why I went with BT. Virgin were awful. Always blaming everything and anyone else for any problems.
She told me that they came out twice to her house and twice the engineer couldn't do the job because he didn't have the right tools with him. Now bear in mind, these are supposed to be people that visit households on a daily basis as service engineers only dealing with Virgin media on site problems(no tools). And another time she had Sky one taken off air because of a disagreement between Virgin and Sky. There were a couple of other channels too(mainstream) but the monthly bill stayed the same. When she queried it by phone, it was always "nothing we can do". And that's when the Virgin telephone service was working.

We are not having problems, well only with HD we cant seem to get it on our new TV everything is pixelated so we want a company that will come out and sort problems rather than ask us to switch off a trillion times to reboot over the phone.

Every time we call, its the same old rubbish........turn off and shut down...............Christ how mant times do we have to shut down, I am an old computer tech type...................:laugh:..............turning off don't help real problems

After an initial installation hiccup caused by a blockage everything has been spot on. Broadband is faster than Sky and also more reliable than Sky BB ever was, for us anyway.

Also don't lose TV when it's a bit windy now either and we get all the HD channels without having to take a premium package or pay extra.

The equipment is also covered for life. I asked Sky what I'd have to do to get a bigger capacity box, (bearing in mind I told them this was a factor in wanting to leave), their answer was simple, pay us £249.99, yeah right, see ya!!

It seems like us VM customers that have been loyal for about 10 years get fobbed off enough to switch.............so it doesn't really affect them, probably the same leave as join, so its about time we found a alternative and all buggered of to it, that would leave sky and virgin wondering eh.................but who gives the same coverage, none of these that say they do, you have to buys a sky package .............who does one
