Yep, I'm a beetroot fan too. Grated with carrot as another fave way of consuming it for me (don't have a juicer but can happily eat beetroot raw, albeit in small pieces)

We both take one Omega 3 1000mg capsule daily we also eat Flat Peaches, Dates and Strawberries every day plus B12 in the winter.
My Mrs is the one which keeps her eye on what and what not to eat.

I take fish oil daily (when I remember) and just started taking vitamin D due to recommendations, although I'm not sure I need it as I spend some time outside most days.

Also take creatine, but that's to help with weight training rather than general health

Got a veg patch full of it currently !

One of the easier veg to grow too. Ime anyway. OT, I know, but one of the few veg I'd bother growing. Near everything else (I don't eat spuds at all often), I've had miserable results from exactly when local veg shops have plentiful supplies. Don't make sense to me to grow my own.

I take vitamin D because I had a blood test which put me in the severely deficient category, but that's all. My diet spreadsheet is telling me that my intake of all the nutrients is ok, so unless I get any blood tests that say otherwise, that'll do for me. I think it was Dr Ben Goldacre who said that for most people the main effect of vitamin supplements is expensive urine.

Considering taking magnesium on an "it can't hurt" basis.
Magnesium can sometimes help with heart arrhythmias. I once saw someone on the arrhythmia forum complaining that she kept taking magnesium but it never made her feel any better, so I gave her a long list of symptoms and asked her if she recognised them.
"Yes" she said, "how did you know?"
"They're all the symptoms of magnesium overdose"
.

Nothing, I'm lucky enough to have a MiL nearby who's a great cook (as is my wife when she has any time). I do try and ensure I get a fair amount of fermented foods in my diet though including kefir, dark chocolate and sauerkraut (which I make) - need to brew some more kombucha as well. And ofc lots of fresh fruit and veg, nuts and seeds etc.

I would advise anyone to pay for a vit D test - I was shocked how severely deficient I was despite a varied diet, and regularly outside (but not 'exposed' enough. I have a good facial and arm tan from around May as I'm outside a lot.

No harm in getting tested - you might not be getting that much from your diet though. Fortified mushrooms might help, see:

If you are over 55 you do not even need a test, just take them.
And much the same for winter time, just take them, the benefits being so high.

Vit D - another one here who was shown as very low on a blood test about a year ago
Omega 3
Vit C

And as I'm now going to the gym again as well as running I'm going to see if creatine can be of any use to me.
