Hi, I was wondering if any has this ebike? I'm thinking on buying one but concerned that it will struggle on steep climbs only having a 250w power output. How does it compare to the E-sommet ,with the 600w motor. Can anyone help?

According to the specs the VRS has a 630Wh battery.Smaller than the Sommet but still a decent capacity.Reviews rate the bike highly.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I think I've gotten to the bottom of my confusion after a bit of research.
It's to do with power output of the motors on e-bikes. When manufactures/retailers provide specs for motor power output on e-bikes, sometimes they give the peak power and sometimes they give the continuous power. Turns out that the max continuous power for any e-bike in the UK is 250watts. Peak power can exceed 1000watts, however this can only be delivered for short bursts. However, when they give a spec on the motor power output, they often don't state which one they are giving you. So when comparing the Vitus E-sommet with the Vitus E-escarpe, the Vitus website states power output for Sommet is 600watts and the power output for the escarpe is 250Watts. How both actually have 250watts continuous and 600watts peak, They just give a different metric for each bike, but put against the same spec.
