Black Bag, the faithfull border bin-liner... just reminded me of comic strips of my youth.
Billy the Fish is however unsurpassable.

One of my flatmates at Uni who was at Art College drew a few cartoons for the Uni Football club for Freshers Week in 1988, with me depicted as various Viz Characters.

I was:
"Noodley" the Fish.
"Noodley" Gonad.
"Noodley" the Sexist.
"Noodley" Fartpants.

I wish I'd kept them, they were very good.

The whole 'Thieving Gypsy Bastards' episode was something of a hoot. IIRC along the lines of:

Viz publish the strip.
Head of Gypsy council complains about stereotyping.
Viz publishes apology (after a fashion).
Head of Gypsy council found guilty of handling stolen generators...

Glory days.

Viz published a follow up cartoon called something like "The Kind Generous Gypsies" if I recall...

6/7 - it was my local mag for a number of years...

My favourites were Billy the Fish, and all those odd one-off Boys-Own style strips, like The Vibrating Bum-Faced Goats...

Oh, and Rude Kid: "Go twat on a brick!"

A question for Noodley,

Who was the kid who put himself on a cross in his bedroom, and was rebuked by his parents for "moving in mysterious ways"??

Not sure..There was a character called something like Ivan Jellical so maybe that's him?
