Any advice for choosing a bottle for a beginner vodka drinker. The recipient of this bottle is an established whisky drinker looking to branch out...

vodka's vodka,

It isn't...some of the vodka I have drunk out here is like rocket fuel.

Im drinking Kharaso Vodka at the moment and I have never heard of it before but it's as rough as sandpaper.

I'd drink Smirnoff but thats rarer than gold dust (sic) out here. :hello:

Not sure what you would advise - I personally would always go for the 40% + strength Vodka, but then that's what I started with.

I have to agree with Monty here. Vodka's vodka imho and you can't taste the difference unless maybe drinking it neat but why would you want to drink vodka without a mixer?

Ah, the old "too-much-vodka-cor-she's-pretty-hang-on-what's-this?" tale ...

haha, nothing like that thankfully. The bits I can remember included sitting in the club's toilets while a mate was a little "bit poorly" with the bouncers banging on the door and kicking us out .... Whoops. We thought we might have been spiked, but probably just weren't used to drinking Vodka. It was a Smirnoff bottle; but I doubt that was what was in it!!

The strange thing is I had a bad day after a night on the gin here.(a hangover)

Don't seem to get that unless its with rocket fuel. :hello:

Well all the vodkas been ok.

In freshers week I had a GIN-cident. I always had liked a g&t now and again, so it seemed like a really good idea to buy a big bottle of gin and a bottle of tonic...and well, drink most of it. Ended up sick on the floor of someone I'd only known a few days and then slept in the corridor as the party got good. Had to clean her bin the day after...but on the up side 2 years later we're still best friends

I have since learnt to stick to what I know. Beer and wine and I'll be fine! (and maybe the odd Sambuka!)
