Oh I know that, but it still riles when a session starts at 7pm on Friday night and finishes at 9pm, and parents regulary drop kids off at 6.30 and pick up at 9.30. Scouts baby sitting service to the rescue. We do try to make sure the worst offenders are the ones whose kids go home covered in mud, soot, food residue (we had a cooking competition tonight) though. Muddy Cubs and Stinky Scouts....

Now why didn't I ever think of that type of event?

We've got a camp coming up in the half term. I'm going to cable tie a 13 amp socket to a tree and see how many of the scouts try to use it to charge their phones etc......new meaning to currant bush perhaps....
Done that years ago. Warden on the campsite at the time.

Riding for the disabled at school. Started for the horses then loved the kids as well.
Taught dog agility for about ten years.
Parent helper for our cub pack. I take my hat off to the leaders. It is indeed a second, unpaid job.
My company gives us half a day off a month to volunteer so I spend it with a local conservation group bringing an unloved part of the local park back into use.

I am a school governor and also a charity trustee. I used to be a trustee of a second charity, but let that one lapse a couple of years ago.
A mate installed a ceiling rose and light bulb in one of the refuge huts high up on the Pennine way - I have often wondered how many visitors searched for the switch - LOL
