I advertised a car on the work notice board a few years back. It had tax and MOT for a few weeks. I didnt want anything for it. The first personto drive it away could have it for FREE. I just wanted to help some one out.
The first lad turned up with a group of mates and moaned about the colour, engine size, stereo etc. The second person turned up and almost tried haggling????? its FREE. take it away or jog on !!! Then a guy from work came round, gave me a sob story about a mate and drove it away. He promised to sort the log book out for me......... BIG MISTAKE.
He SOLD it to a homeless guy who racked up lots of parking tickets and eventually crashed it near Bath. The first i knew about it was the letters from the council and tow truck company who all wanted money from me !!!!
Never again. Now i scrap them and get about one hundred pounds from the scrap yard.

Guy at work sold an old Jaguar on Ebay, it was an MOT failure, and advertised as such. It was pick up only from Essex.
The bloke that won the auction lived in Birmingham but wouldnt come to collect it, and wanted to meet my mate half way, so he told him to jog on.
The car went back on Ebay, and the next winner lived in Poland, but he flew into Stanstead, removed the UK plates, screwed on some Polish plates and drove the car home!!!
Apparently he breaks them up for spares and sells them in Germany!

The same, I tried to give away a Volvo 740 GL, it was a 1988 model and mint, nobody wanted it (no jokes please) not even when I tried on the Volvo forums. That car was taxed and mot'd and I'd have trusted it around the world. Wish I'd kept it, lowered it and painted it matt black.
