I've joined this Forum to share info about a bike that belonged to the husband of my cousin, who recently died. It is a Walvale cycle built in 1978 by Norman Roberts. I wish to share the info before I advertise it on Ebay. Here are some details I have gleaned about the cycle from a local shop........
Walvale Frame and Forks, with Campagnolo Dropouts.
Campagnolo Gear System. Nouvo Record.
Campagnolo Headset.
Campagnolo Hub / Mavic Mach 2 Rims.
SR Royal Chainset
Cinelli Bar and Stem.
Galli Brakes.
Turbo Saddle.

Is there any interest out there?

Barnet,
That bike looks like it is in tip top condition. I'm sure that someone here will be interested.

Looks like 23.5 " or 24" in old money, my size BITD with a "handful" of seat post showing... Depends on geometry. Handful of seat post in the black and white pic in the OP

Now there's a blast from the past, I just happened to come across your post about your Walvale, did you manage to sell it in the end? the reason I ask is that I have a Walvale which was built in late 70's or early 80's, it is a 24" Chrome Ichiwata 017 frame custom build which I bought second hand back in the early 80's when I lived in Ireland, I'm looking for information about the company that built it. I used it regularly and took it with me when I emigrated in the late 80's and continued to ride it till I wore out all the components, I kept the frame and rebuilt it with parts from a carbon Raleigh Criterium bike that I own, the Walvale is superior in every way.
