At school we talk about the paper coming out of the printer, or more often, it's not printed my...., yet!

It isn't fiction I'm afraid, though I have had a go in the past at short stories. Education, about a particular 'specialist' subject. Happy to tell you should we ever meet, but not going to post about it on forum, I'm afraid

I think we don't really notice it moving out of the printer just when it is there so it is an appearance rather than a movement.

So simply "Appeared" or Materialised.

It's actually a photo being printed... a photo the protagonist doesn't want printed but it's happening and there's nothing he can do but watch as it slowly emerges, bit by bit (as colour photos do) ...it's a long and uncomfortable few seconds for the protagonist in the story, hence me feeling its emergence should literally be dragged out
