Wanted - replacement for student bike stolen in York yesterday

My niece had her bike stolen in York, where she's at uni yesterday.

She's devastated and now without transport to get her to and from college.

If anyone can help she's looking for anything free or cheap to use as day to day transport.

Can anyone help out a damsel in distress please?

Would be very appreciated.

Get your neice to put an appeal on facebook. When my stepson's bike mysteriously disappeared (I say stolen, he say's lost!) I put a post on facebook asking if anyone had a cheap bike for sale to replace it.
Within minutes I was collecting an old but in good condition Raleigh Ogre mountain bike from a neighbour - He wouldn't accept anything for it, it had been unused in his shed for years and was glad that step-son could make use of it!

Freecycle is also a good option. I have obtained and got rid of several bikes this way.

Believe it or not the bike has been returned! Turns out to be an elaborate trick or treat prank which was not at all funny.
