Wanted: very cheap (or free) commuter bike (2 miles per day)

A friend of mine just had 2 bikes stolen in 2 days in Norwich! So I'm helping him to find a new (old) one. He covers about 2 miles per day and would be grateful of anything that works or requires only minor repairs to get it going. His height is 5'10 so it'll need to be reasonably sized.

He (we) can collect from Norfolk/Norwich area.
