With the Pandemic not much is going to be happening for a while. I've signed up but I'm in a part of the world where there aren't many members.

For anyone thinking of hosting, I'd certainly recommend it. You may need to weed out the wasters but it's an interesting, rewarding and sometimes inspirational process.

@Moderators I've given this its own thread, breaking off from https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/warmshowers-no-longer-free.269353/
as I think it may be more appropriate. Of course, it's your call.

Although stronger in NL, Vrienden op de Fiets also covers other countries. About €10/ year. https://www.vriendenopdefiets.nl/en/page/homepage

I just came across this site:

https://1nitetent.com/en/home/

It's mostly for Germany, but given the fact that wild camping is technically illegal here it's a great idea for anyone touring here.

Basically a list of folk who are happy for you to pitch a tent or tarp for one night in their garden or on their land. A little different to warm showers, but still a great idea. Hopefully I'll get to try it out this year.

I read this as "warmshowers users and people interested in *hosing* touring cyclists." I thought "Well, that'll save on the shower".
I've hosted for couchsurfing which can be good. I now have 2 new friends, one in Norway and one in Brazil. When I can get out again I hope to be able to travel and couchsurf here and there, even if I am getting a little old to be dossing on somebody's floor.
