I have just had a telephone call with my mobile phone company and in the course of it I was discussing the data usage on my account which appears to be much higher than it used to be.

The person I was speaking to said that facebook have changed account settings so that videos posted on your timeline automatically stream and are using up your data allowance even if you do not look at them, but do open facebook on your phone.

The problem is easily resolved by going into your facebook settings, clicking on VIDEOS and changing the setting to stop the automatic streaming

Failure to do this could easily put you over any data limit on your mobile phone without you realising it

I hate the most recent versions of FB on my mobile so removed all the updates and went back to a version from about 12 months ago- I then reject any attempts it makes to update, it's so much better and FB hadn't invented that feature but thanks for the headsup.

Isn't bookface just for pre pubescent schoolgirls to chat and giggle about boys in the playground ? I find it a bit needy and immature if I'm honest... Nothing worse than hearing an adult to another say 'ill facebook you' or 'like me' .

Actually school kids are deserting Facebook in droves as they can't stand the thought of their parents being on it.
You can google the story if ya like.

edit: Found it for you HERE

It's easy to criticise Facebook but I find it a really good way to keep in touch with friends that live overseas. I probably go on there once or twice a week and don't use it on my phone. Within the last month through Facebook I have reconnected with some old friends from Kibbutz that I haven't seen for years. I guess I find it a good way to stay in touch, but I don't want to live my life on there.

a photo(s) on facebook is there for all to see, plus no limit on number of photos, albums and a lot easier than multiple emails, texts etc plus its free, also facebook is used by many as a photo timeline of their lives,

Which can cause a massive problem. No one knows what the future holds for them and there may come a time in someone's life when what they put in the public domain comes back to haunt them. A social worker I know became the butt of considerable media interest after a case she was involved in resulted in a tragedy for which she was initially blamed but later cleared. She had to frantically delete all the photos of herself and her family from her FB account and contact everyone she knew asking them to do the same with pictures she'd sent before the press got them.
