Might be a surround from a kitchen cabinet door push button catch.

It's a rigid plastic shiny chrome coated thing with two lugs sticking out of it.

Maybe the bottom fitting off a utensil, the ones fitted to things like mashers that make the rubber/plastic handle end look pretty.

To me it looks like the ferrule from around the speed knob on the Rampant Rabbit Deluxe. Though I'm no expert.
