On looking at the picture again,isn't that dog on the right of the pic' half hidden by the victim tree having a dump while its owners nonchalantly wander off pretending they haven't seen it doing so?

There's one watching that can be seen. Hands in pockets.

It might be worried about the aliens though, which might explain the worried look.
