Is it one of then kuhn rikon jobs?
No, it's not a fancy pan (Ikea), but it's been lovingly looked after, and no-one tampers with my pan!

The knives are various, but no-one else sharpens them but me, and they will cut a tomato with just the weight of the blade.

I don't even bother doing the washing up at Christmas day round the parents. My Dad has some weird system with the dishwasher, everything has to be in specific places at specific angles and even if we did load it he'd take it out and put it back in again, the way he wanted it.

Then we get to the pans and the roasting trays. These have to be soaked for a specific amount of time with a certain amount of washing up liquid (W5 brand from Lidl innit). Luckily this insane crockery OCD renders my services absolutely useless. I still offer to help, but only because I know that my help will be refused and I can go back to watching crap on the telly.

OK..ultimate dishwashing diplomacy...kitchen knives(for the preparing of veg or meat) - wipe down and leave horizontaly on a surface that allows drainage. DO NOT suggest sharpening. DO NOT suggest alternative ways of sharpening. DO NOT offer to bring your own knives. DO NOT bring your own knife sharpener. DO NOT bring your own knives (Oh it's OK, they're in the boot in my butcher's apron...")

So you've got a thing about knives too. Are you getting any counselling?

If it doesn't come off with a bit of elbow grease and a scourer it's been on there longer than that nights dinner. Throw it in the rack, still with a couple of suds on to highlight the effort, open a beer then play drunken charades.
