Your knife skills are better than mine then :notworthy:. I find the bowie to big and clumsy in the kitchen apart from butchery, but each to their own. I could never use a cleaver like Ken Hom does (or to be honest most chinese chefs) either. Maybe I'm just a clumsy fekker.:crazy:

What is this washing up of which you speak? For things that won't go in the dishwasher, there are binbags :laugh:
I thought husbands were the designated dishwasher ? in our house the breakfast pots can be still in the sink when i get home .

And that's what annoys me. All the dirty plates still with leftovers on are just chucked in the sink. I'm the one with 'above average' (:whistle:) OCD and like things to be clean, tidy and orderly, so when I get home I have to sort the sink, clean the plates and then wash everything. I'd rather everything was just left on the draining board so I could do it 'my way' from the beginning. :cursing:

Argh, yes. At work my two sink-hates are mugs filled with water 'to soak' (which then all need emptying and putting up on the side ready to wash) and used tea bags in the sink. I've never ever understood the thought process that leads people to decide to put tea bags in the sink, when there's a waste bin as the other option. I'm not normally a violent man, but...

That too. The 'green' rubbish bag is under the sink, and requires no extra effort to put the tea bag in there directly. Same with vegetable/fruit excess: straight into the empty sink.

My favourite sign in a shared office kitchen, written by the cleaners who came in at the end of the day was "Dirty mugs put in the cupboard will the thrown away". Just the thought that people would actually put dirty mugs in a cupboard...

Maz bought me a cleaver and a 'steel' couple of years ago, if you watch the way Chinese chefs use one (the way you hold them is totally different to a knife) it becomes easy.

PS - not only do I have a proper Wok I've also got a Carbon Steel Balti pan. :angel:

You'll always hold a meat cleaver a different way to the way you hold a knife!

In an office opening a drawer and finding a forgotten cup. It had something in it, may even have been drinkable when first made, but now defies description. Who gets to clean it, the finder.
