I have to defend the female of the (human) species here, I squashed one while on a tiny train in Wales this summer - the whole carriage of old biddies (and my lot) heaved a collective sigh.
When my 2 kids were little, my husband leapt out of the car as a wasp flew in, closing the door behind him leaving the kids trapped in the car with the wasp! My hero - not!
I have to admit to getting off a bus a couple of miles from home once when I was a lot younger because of a very ugly stripey flying thingy buzzing about! I'm older, wiser and braver now!
