On 16[sup]th[/sup] August the company launched the Jaguar Land Rover 'Cycle to Work' scheme which was available to all permanent hourly and salaried employees.

The scheme forms part of the Government's Green Travel Plan aimed at promoting healthier journeys to work and reducing environmental pollution. Employees were provided with the opportunity to make savings on the cost of a new cycle and safety equipment through income tax and national insurance.

The scheme ran for four weeks and has now closed. The Company feels it has been a real success and is pleased to announce that a total of 722 employees have participated. 377 applications have been received from Jaguar employees and 345 from Land Rover employees.

Unfortunately they are all going to be a bit hissed off when they find out the recommended buy back value.

Suppose it's better as Landrover can claim the vat, but for us it's made the scheme rubbish, and it's now been suspended !!!

Nice one - Murmours at work were about bringing back the Car Lease scheme. I'm not sure that this will fall well into the councils green travel plan and investment in cycle lanes and facilities.
