Look out for gaffer tape on bike racks as it could be concealing the fact that it's been cut straight through so they can just slide your bike off with lock attached.

Not really. My old 26" folding Dahon used to be locked up outside work.

Plus, my folder is only one of four bikes I own, and I bet I'm not the only one in that position.

Of course you can lock folding bikes. But sharing the warning explicitly and exclusively with other folder owners seems strange, as they will be less affected on average than other bike owners.

(But I know where you are coming from. I did the same thing in another forum, stayed entirely in the folding bike subforum, and never interacted in other parts of the forum. I often posted what would be more general interest things in only to other folder owners)

I've not visited any other part of this site, but have shared the post on the parts of forums that I visit.

Conversely, if someone else doesn't visit the man part of the site, and it wasn't posted here, they'd possibly miss the warning.

It's all good. The more people that know, the better.

I lock my folder to a bike rack at work. Space in the office is tight and its quick and easy to lock it to the rack
