I can't help but feel responsible for derailing the thread.
Back on track. @DCLane - do you know the hill climb course as I might roll out there to cheer the young'ns on (although Mrs Dr B has just suggested a shopping trip to Soton)? Despite not being Yorkshire, there are some challenging climbs around there.
Unfortunately Mrs Dr Bollo felt that Southampton's economy needed a full boost, so I couldn't make it in time to spectate. How did young Master Lane get on?The course is somewhere at Ditcham Park School - we're being asked to use the south entrance from the Chalton side. That's all I know I'm afraid as they've not released it. Hillclimb starts at 10 and should be done by 11 with the faster/older riders off first. My 12yo's off at 10:44 in Kirklees Cycling Academy kit on a red Cervelo S3.
You should be able to get out and back with time left to do the shopping.
The track event's at Portsmouth the next day and promises to be a good event, with even Brompton racing during lunch-time.

Well done on the result, but boo to the off. Crossed fingers for tomorrow. Thanks for asking - he came 3rd in the national U13's but fell on gravel after escorting the younger riders down. That puts tomorrow's track race in doubt but we hope to be there.
Hope you're not too poor! We ended up going into Portsmouth and the Gunwharf?/docks.
