Waterproof hat/cap

Just back from 6 weeks in Malaga, 6 weeks of dry cycling days Back to the dismal UK and I need a cycling hat/cap, maybe one of those beanie type things? I see Aldi have them for £6 and my LBS has very similar looking ones for £19

Any recommendations? An Aldi rain cap review would be great

They looked OK but only thermal..very similar to my Biemme one... great in sub zero, but not waterproof - will keep bonce warm though !

I got a Rapha mountain climbers cap (or some such silly name) for a fiver in their sale a few years back. Definitely waterproof but also very warm, so only worn on cold days.

Prendas have a (small) selection of waterproof team caps.

I would think anything properly waterproof would boil your head. In extra cold weather (sub zero) I use a cheap Nike running beanie, but thats more for the lugs than the bonce. If its warm enough for rain, I wouldn't bother.

I have a spesh under helmet pro that I wash in grangers. works for me.

I don't bother with waterproof, personally, I just wear a regular cotton cap (Prendas, mostly)under the helmet.

For me the only reason I need a hat if it's raining is to have a peak to keep the rain out of my eyes. JTM's suggestion seems good to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a cheap Thinsulate fleece hat that I bought from Select (a girl's clothing shop) a few years ago for under a fiver. I've seen them in Millets as well.

Very warm and 100% waterproof!!!

And purple, which is important.

I like thinsulate, it's good stuff. I had a pair of gloves made of it, used them as liners and they were excellent. Sadly now gone and I've not been able to find a replacement.

Aldi cap is fine. Used one throughout last winter. Would only use if really cold though. Otherwise as others have said, cap under helmet s/b ok.
