Waterproof overtrousers with LARGE adjustable waist...? Or cape??

Ok, well, I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant and while still commuting, my overtrousers are now too tight around the waist.

As I commute in rain or shine, and will continue to do so as long as I feel able, I'm on the lookout for a replacement. I'm quite small normally and am still so aside from my bump!

Are there any overtrousers out there which are very adjustable in the waist? I'm on the extreme of the elastic on mine at the moment and there's no further give in the material either.

Otherwise I'm thinking of buying the biggest size I can (mens) and then just tying up the baggy bits around my legs with reflective ankle bands, which I have. Anyone see any flaws with this plan?

Before anyone suggests just getting wet, I don't like being wet (or cold) and as I'll be doing this until at least November, I'd like a pair of trousers rather than either just getting wet or using rainlegs or similar.
Although, by the end of it, I'm likely to outgrow my amazing Paramo jacket as well so might need to investigate a cape.... is it possible to stay remotely dry with a cape??

Thanks!

Hi
Can't comment on waterproof trousers but you could try a general outdoor shop, they might have something however, years ago I used a cape for very wet rides ond once I got used to it I found it brilliant. Obviously it wont stop the spray from your wheels but the majority of your upper body should stay dry.

I'm curious as to why the outdoorsy type ones seem so much cheaper than the cycling type ones. As this will only be for a few months I'm willing to take a chance though.
Thinking of this:

in the 2XL size, which I can shrink down at the waist with the drawstring and if the legs are too wide use an ankle strap. I think I'll look idiotic but then again I've never much cared for how I look on the bike!!

Agree, cycling specific clothing is always more expensive than none specific alternatives. The overtrousers in the link look fine and lets face it, when it's lashing it down with rain no one will notice and who cares, cycle clips round the bottom of your legs and your away!
