Absolutely right! The rain seeps through your bib longs, runs down your legs, and stacks up at the cuff at the top of your SealSkinz socks. It's only a matter of time before it finds its way inside. After that, you are condemned to a what seems a lifetime of squelching. If you stop moving, the water gets cold too....Oh misery....
Hmmm...maybe I'll give them a miss, afterall.

I find those Sealskinz socks are a bit like wearing Lycra in the rain, in that they still get wet but they are much more comfortable to wear when wet than standard socks would be. I find that I don't notice my feet getting wet when wearing them. Thus I would recommend getting some for those wet commutes, but you will still need some dry clothes to change into.

I found sealskins ok on short rides, but as said previously once they fill-up it's even more cold and miserable than normal socks.

never worked for me either. my prefered solution is either get very wet, or put waterproof trousers on, normal woollen socks and use waterproof hiking boots/shoes for the commute. I have added a section of under eleastic on my waterproof trousers and they never ride up, so the waterproofs always stay on the outside of my gortex lined boots - and for me, at least (and my OH) it works really well.
