i was told to use Nikwax to re proof my Altura jacket , not sure how good it will be on panniers and such

I used Nikwax for my jacket and it did the trick nicely but I cannot figure out which of the long list of their products would work on bags. :wacko:

Nikwax did my jacket ok,not sure about panniers as its a coarser fabric.
You could look for a walking forum and ask the question on there.Post back on here if you get a response.

I use this from a French cavering site - had it posted to France. It is I think neoprene dissovled in something like acetone. Works brilliantly but is expensive, don't know if they can post it outside France and the fumes are really strong - I applied it in a semi-open shed and had to keep going outside to breathe. There might be a UK version of the stuff. Mind you it makes what it is coated in look like it has been dipped in tar.
