Last year I cycled from Calais to Bruges on a pretty basic Halfords hybrid bike. I stayed a couple nights and packed my stuff in a pannier on the rack the bike came with. I'm planning on doing the cycle again this year, but recently got a new bike off a friend (a Teman Pro-3.0 [https://www.hackney-cycles.co.uk/product-page/teman-pro-3-0-hybrid-road-bike-white]) which doesn't come with mounts for a rack.
