Be fair: that signal on the bottom left will be a complete mystery to many of the sort of drivers who read the Daily Express. They simply never see anyone do that towards them when driving and they only ever get shown the signal top right the other way up!

Well now with those temporary street closures i see those how you call them guys/girls/woman/etc. in high visibility needing to physically block the road in order to get people to stop so i guess any hand signal is to difficult for the average driver.
