Approx 5 miles from me is a Marstons pub called the Seven Woods. Someone recommended it for good value lunches. As were in that area we called in today.
Choice of starters. plus
Anything off the 'light bites' section. plus
**a choice of desserts.............all for £6.00
PLUS..............
a pint of EPA and a glass of house red.............£1.00 each
**you can have 2 courses for £5.00. We did that and it was plenty for us. We had breaded mushrooms followed by gammon, egg, chips and peas.........excellent.
Typical pub food but hot, tasty, good service etc.
As Arnie would say.........."I'll be back"...........but next time the all day breakfast with chips @ £4.50

Brake Bros reheated crud or homemade?

Which side of town are you? Apparently the Crown & Cushion in Penketh is doing good food. Not tried yet, will be doing so shortly.

Wouldn't know really. The gammon seemed fresh and the egg was certainly not reheated 'crud'.......but for £5.00 I don't really expect gourmet........just to have a hole filled
Fair enough. Never been one for just ‘filling a hole’ but each to their own!
