It all makes sense now. The error of my ways was explained to me by a lovely lady who decided to come up on the left of me at a T junction where I was waiting to turn right. I thought it was a bit strange the way she forced herself up the inside of me to get to the give way line.
So, with it being a busy road that I was pulling out onto I tested the water with a few 'false starts' and each time I moved forwards a little so did she.

I decided to go for a gap that would easily accommodate a cyclist but may have been a bit tight for a car and was certainly too tight for a bike and a car at the same time. She decided to follow me but because of my positioning she was left on the wrong side of the road, trying to pass me into oncoming traffic.

Bless her, once she had returned back to her side of the road she had the decency to stop to let me know that because she was in a car cyclists had to wait.

Although she didn't quite put it like that.... And she seemed quite angry.

impressive on her part and dangerous for you

interesting interpretation of the HC

It's astonishing how little of the highway code these f*ckwits actually remember, isn't it?

Pass a test once, drive pretty much the way you want for the whole of the rest of your life. Fantastic.

I had someone do that to me last year and I was in a car. It was a 4x4 driver so that would explain a lot. peanut then tried to pass me when a bus was coming towards us.

and develop psychic powers presumably so that you know a vehicle on your left is going to turn right.

Sometime they signal just to let you know they are going to cut you because you shouldn't be on their road...

The WVM I came accross at lunch time thought similar. Theres a paricular juction where the Bus Lane moves from the left of 4 lanes to one shy of the outside. I generally look, indicate and move across carefully before the bend. I must have been to careful for WVM he seem to get up set that I didn't suddenly swerve in front of him and other trafftic quickly so Instantly been out of his way and let him get to that red light a little faster.
