Thanks to our neighbour we have a new fence.thirteen spiffing fence panels went in this morning.these are quality they are really sturdy i think about £130 per panel. So next year i don't have to paint the fence,:hyper:and at a pinch maybe the year after. All is good.Job was made easier because of our concrete base boards and posts from our original fence donkeys years ago.She asked if she could replace with a different type of fence and we said yes,all this at no cost to ourselves a win win situation.

£130 a bay is a bit pricy. My nephew owns a fencing company and reckons about £110 a bay is par for a dedent job.

Our neighbour did that earlier this year, the previous guy had put up a 2nd fence cos I wouldn't let him paint ours but after 15 years or so the wooden posts had rotted so after a bit of a chat I told him there were 2 fences 'back to back' and that the 'boundary' fence (ours) had concrete posts and 'barge boards' so he just removed the old panels and slotted new ones in. Saved him a bunch of money and effort and as he didn't need to dig out the bottom of the rotten posts and concrete he did it in a day, as a bonus he also gained a foot of garden he didn't know he had
