Wear on parts in grand tours

Hi,
Does anyone know which bits of bikes in grand tours are used for the whole 3 weeks. I guess the frame, crank and pedals but do the wheels survive, the derailleurs etc
If replaced, is it because they are warn out or is it a precaution?
Would the same tyres be used for 3 weeks?

They don't even use the same bike every day, very often time trial bikes will be used for those stages.

It’s unusual for a bike to be used for more than a couple of stages, especially seeing that any issue ( bigger than a puncture ) will normally mean a bike swap ‘on the fly‘.

Thanks. I am meaning more the components. Take a standard road bike. Would they use 1 chain for 3 weeks?

They wouldn’t swap bits, there’s no need.

It depends on who’s bike it is, as to how it will be used / serviced. For example, the GC rider‘(s) bikes will tend to get more attention than a Dom’s bike.
