that was me! And that was no blonde, that was my wife! Spooky CC moment or what!

How was the ride out there? Not sure I'd have liked those gale force winds.

He wasn't riding, I was! See above:biggrin:

The question is, who is stalking who? Or should that be whom? Rich, you gave me lunch inspiration - I've just had sardines on toast. Thanks!

He was in my town without a personal invite

Much under-rated, 'something on toast' IMO.
Beans, poached egg, garlic mushrooms to name but a few:tongue:

Definitely a 'hold-tight-to-handlebar-and-take-care' day today! There's at least one tree down on my commute route, a big beech: not uprooted but sheared clean off at the base of the trunk - most unusual. Didn't fall on the road though, just the pavement. Hope no-one was beneath it.

Memories of 1987 ... but of course this is but a whisper compared to that ...

we drove - an infrequent occurence. And ran in to the mother of all hailstorms on the M23. Susie slowed to 25, as did most of the traffic. One chap tootled past at about 50. A half mile down the road we saw the wreck of his car - he'd lost it, gone in to the central reservation, and the front end had just disintegrated, spreading bits over three lanes. Cars were stopping in all kinds of wierd places. We crept through and thanked our lucky stars.

I remember once, some years ago, driving on the A264 dual carriageway near Horsham, I came to a complete stop and stayed that way for quite some time. I reckon most other motorists did the same. It was literally such a rainstorm as I don't think I've ever experienced, before or since. I could barely see the end of my car's bonnet. And full-beam headlights made no impact whatsoever....

"Earth to ChrisKH...come in please. Calling Chris..."

A tornado in Benfleet yesterday! I suppose that beats tournedos at The Ritz.

95mph winds recorded on iow yesterday, glad i was on the island a week earlier.
Quite calm this am 0700, wind picked up as i reached home 0930. In time to watch TW win his first tournament in Australia.

I was just organizing brunch yesterday when our downstairs neighbour called to say that our new greenhouse was spread across the garden. So I had to break off cooking to recover all the polycarbonate glazing panels and put them in the shed for the time being. I'm not that far from the IOW so it must have been gusting near 100 MPH here too.

Good report Rezillo - but that second photo was in the Daily Wail was it not? (The subject of another thread?)

I have a sneaking suspicion about this photo...

No idea about the origins of it but apologies indeed for linking to the Mail. My excuse is that I was directed to look there for the Porthleven wave pics (which are truly spectacular, btw) and found this one first.
