How many web browsers are there out there? So far, I can think of Internet Explorer, Safari, FireFox, Konquerer, Qt and IceWeasel.

Chrome and Opera are biggies which you've missed.

And then there's all the mobile options.

I've heard of Chrome but don't know much about it. I've never heard of Opera. I think I came across SeaMonkey in Puppy Linux, but it didn't seem to work all that well.

Opera is fantastic, second to FireFox but ahead of the others, IMO. That said, I haven't used it regularly for a few years.

I'd avoid Chrome, just because I don't like the way that Google are going.

There are only a handful of web engines, so most of the time it's just a different skin and features between some web browsers.

I've been using Opera for a few months now after Firefox went a bit bandy on me with pdfs. It's good. Clean & fast.

Chrome is my default browser just because of its speed and simplicity. I'm not bothered about Google using my browsing data to generate targeted adverts - I'm perfectly capable of ignoring the ones that manage to creep through AdblockPlus.

If you want the performance of Chrome without Google getting its paws on your data, try Iron. Google made the code open-source, so this is identical.

I started using Chrome just over a year ago... it really suits me, and I wouldn't go back to IE, which I used before. I use google stuff for a lot of things (email, docs, a work blog and so on)

Chrome for me too.

I am currently using the beta version in LINUX (along with Opera) but 99% of my online experience works fine with Chrome.

I only use IE for VPNing to work.

A quick google search seems to indicate Chrome is more an operating system than a web browser. Still, I may have to give it a go on my home PC.
