just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with one of these gold buying companies. My mum gave me a buzz today saying that she was thinking of selling her old gold to one of these places and what I thought first response was "oh no here we go". She then proceeded to tell me that they are offering £8+ per gram which I thought was a bit far fetched but had a look around a sure enough that's about right. So i have had a little look around for the old crap I don't wear anymore and got about 35grams from 3 small rings and a chain, £250. This then prompted the wife to have a look at her old gold and come up with £100s worth (to say we should put them in together and split the money
)
This all seems to good to be true to me. I was listening to radio 2 (yes my life is over) the other day and they were talking about these places not giving the full value, but I didn't even pay this much for it when I bought them new. the adverts on TV are the most stupid annoying ads in the world and that has put me off even looking into it before but to have £350 just sitting collecting dust seems silly.
so has anyone sold their gold yet? what happened if you did?
