I had a couple of books made up.
We got married in New York and had a student take some photos for us but tbh, the best ones were taken by friends & family.
We had some professional photos done when we got home, (in full dress) in one of our favourite walking places.
I prefer the NY ones as they are more relaxed and natural....

Every time I look at my wedding pics (not often).
I see my MIL's sour puss and remember she wanted to wear a black "funeral hat" complete with veil. Her usually very quiet hubby put his foot down and she didn't do it. :ninja:
I also, more importantly remember my dad wasn't there as he passed away 2 months before, aged only 60.
Bit of a mixed day, party at night was fun though .

Photographer stuck em through the wrong solution and trashed the lot.
When I left poly I worked In a photographic shop which also had a D+P counter.

One day the lab ruined the whole day's batch and I was at the counter when a girl came in and handed me slips for eight films.

There were all her photos from the honeymoon in Australia.

Good job I was very diplomatic even back then.

Our album is in a cupboard upstairs but we do look through it on our anniversary......awwwwww :smooch:

We went off to Mauritius to get married, just on our own.

My OH is not into photos being out on show so I was really excited when he said for my Christmas a couple of years ag that we should get a picture put on canvas for our living room. I looked out my favourite wedding pics but left it to him to choose which one to get. On Christmas morning I opened my present And this is the
one he choose!

It's a bit more complicated than that...
All this reminds me of one of the favourite stories of @rvw's late father. One of his early jobs was in a photographer's studio. It was just after the war, and wedding dresses were often made of rather flimsy parachute silk, commonly recycled from parachutes. His job? Painting back in the dress on the negative because the camera flash rendered it transparent.

Oh, and ours? I know exactly where they are, and yes we do have a few on display. A few years ago for our anniversary I even scanned some into the computer. No, I'm not putting them up here.

My future father-in-law was a police officer and our wedding photographer was the scene of crime recorder for the local force. He was almost late for our wedding as he had been out in the morning to photograph a body on Bodmin Moor.

We offered to lay down and be chalk-marked but he had heard that many times before.

I was archiving files on the oc this week. I Ave about a zillion Gb of images that I haven't looked at in over 7 years on the hard drive.
Makes me think that time hop apps and the like are actually a pretty good idea.

I have never understood how that can happen, anyone worth their salt would never make a mistake like that surely?

Some of those old pics are incredibly sharp. I scanned some ancient pics of my Dad's - maybe 2" square or something like that - at high resolution: 1200dpi I think it was. Made perfectly acceptable A4 prints, using glossy photo paper in a Canon graphics printer.

If you start with a larger negative/plate, then the print can be blown up to a larger size as it is all bigger physically.

Sorry, I had to laugh at that, but, jeezo!! I would have put my foot down years ago over the subject!
