Weird issue with carbon rims...

I run deep section carbon rims on my daily rider Brompton... been faultless for 18 months then suddenly a rash of punctures on the rim side of the inner tube... traced it to the rim tape distorting into the spoke holes allowing the tube to form a bubble that ruptured... fixed with some tougher tapes, but thought I'd pass out a warning about it.

Not really a fault with the carbon rims. I have suffered similar shoddy rim tape on factory wheels of some of my bikes but spotted the distortion before it became an issue as I tend to remove tyres in the first few months of ownership just to check for niggles like that and to apply talc as the manufacturers never do.
