In my early thirties and I'm still picking my nose and eating it.....

Yup. If we weren't meant to eat bogies then they should have made them taste bad or something!

When I'm reading, I have to stop and sniff the pages. No idea why although it amuses the rest of the family

. Also have to eat things in a certain order so I save the best part of the meal to last.

Not too sure on book sniffing, but saving the best part of a meal 'til last is standard practice for me - e.g. the cheesy crust on lasagne, or the bit of the pizza with the most topping. My girlfriend is the complete opposite, and often tries to nick my "best bits" before I get to them

I also like to roll up the corner of a tissue into a long point, stick it deep up my nose and wiggle it about until I sneeze!

I'm mildly obsessed with numbers. When I'm at work, I find myself counting the odometer of the truck down to the next "significant" mileage ... the next one is 666 666 and will happen in around 75 000 km. I don't know why I do this, but there we are.

Only three i can think of off hand...
I 'yelp'...it's a sharp intake of breath, like a hiccup, especially after ive eaten something. It annoys the hell out of the wife. No idea how or why it started, not sure if i'm satisfying a bodily need...or it's just a bad habit.

ooo, I get that lot, it annoys the be-jesus out of missus Jeez too. I dont think its a habit though just an involuntary reflux thing.

I get it if I talk too fast too, I've trained myself over the years to slow my speech down

Nope...its the first signs of autism...

I was told that school teachers look for signs of early autism in kids by observing the way they eat, autistic kids tend to divide the meal into elements (peas, carrots, caviare, swan) and eat each, one at a time.

Are you scared now?

Not really. Autism is a scale, and we're all on it somewhere to greater or lesser extent.

I'm lucky, I've got a job that involves sorting stuff - an OCD dream!

No gaps in curtains when they're pulled together. Not at the top where they meet, or anywhere else. It's just wrong..... And the pleats have to be evenly spread - none of this 'flat curtain across the window and all the spare at the sides' business......

Any time i eat a biscuit / bar of something thats wrapped (eg. snickers, flapjack, double decker, twix etc etc...) I have to break it in half before I open the packet. Started doing it when i was about 17, for some reason. 18 years later and I'm still doing it.

When reading a book, after turning a page and  beginning to read the first line of the new page I almost always turn back to re-read the last line of the page I have just finished before continuing, and I have no idea why. Confused? I am!
I sniff new books. I love the smell of books. Oh, and magazines. Turin Brakes have a song (I forget its name) that goes "and when it rains, it's gonna make us smell like fresh magazines"!

Oops. Looks like I'm another one that doesn't read all the posts before posting!

As long as I breathe, I attack.
My wife has enough "It must be like this " for pretty much everything , i do not get time or the opportunity for my own OCD

Strange that autism has come up, having recently read about how Cadel Evans might have Aspergers it would certainly explain a lot for me as well, i always put it down to abandonment issues with my mother dieing when i was 10 but Aspergers certainly describes a lot of what i feel (although i could be a hypochondriac paranoid looking for answers  )
