Weird water pipe issue

I wondered if anyone could explain this:

I was at my mates at the weekend helping to dig post holes. We hit the water pipe that comes into the house from the meter in the road. It didn't break, but was bruised and battered (we caught it with a post hole auger). No leaks were identified, so we carried on. 1 minute later, his mum reports that no water is coming out of the kitchen tap. Totally dry. We turned off the main stopcock to the house and checked the water meter in the road - it was totally still. So no water leak between meter and road.

Over the course of the day, the pipe where we hit was still bone dry. And the kitchen tap started to dribble more and more until in the evening it was back to normal.

Could this be a weird coincidence? Or could hitting the pipe somehow have affected flow to one outlet in the house? Every other outlet (toilet, bathroom sink, washing machine etc) was unaffected. We can't work out what's happened

Dislodged dirt that got caught in the first used tap - e.g. kitchen ?

We had a tiny stone once come in the mains and lodge where the inlet for the downstairs loo was, reducing the fill flow to a trickle. Disassembled and found a small stone.

That makes sense. So when installing the pipe, there might have been dirt/stone in there, and it's sat there until now when it was dislodged? Yeah that makes sense
