Just any old cap with a peak? I have been googling for something which is waterproof (or water resistant) and had no luck.

I was out for my normal morning ride this morning, absolutely p1ssing down.

I didn't see one other cyclist, where as I'd normally see about 15.

Where did they all go?.....

I too cycled to work in the rain today and didn`t see a single cyclist.(It was 4.30 am though)

Hi all,

It wasn't raining heavy in Bristol at 7-8 this morning (maybe a bit of drizzle). It rained heavier later. Saw a fair few cyclists, but not the normal compliment.

Guilty. Heavy rain when I was trying to leave the house this morning, so I took the car. The rain had relented to just about acceptable by the time I got to work.

School holidays don't help either - Car is much quicker in August, but slower in September on a bad day.

I feel lucky! I was early enough to have quite a pleasant ride with no rain.

Help, I was caught in a massive down pour, my first since starting commuting a few questions!

1. How do you keep your feet dry or don't you bother?
2. Pot holes in the puddles, do you hold a postion away from the streams or pile through them?
3. If you though the streams, apart from the pot holes what are the other things that are a problem.

Although it was very wet, it only cost me 3 mins off my normal average and didn't bother me other than the problems above which were quite abnormal as there was flash road flooding.

I thought I knew the journey pothole wise like the back of my hand, but faced with zero view it was like riding in a minefield, so held a position away from it, but I was pissing off the barstewards in their warm dry petrol propelled transport

1. Don't bother. You can can get Sealskin socks that are waterproof and will help to get your dry.
2. I go around puddles just incase there is a big pothole in it.
3. The streams can also wash loose gravel into the road, so take it easier on corners.
Also all the crud in the road gets washed into the gutters. If you ride in them, then your more likely to get a punture.

I rode in my first torrential downpour yesterday too, my feet were that wet that my shoes still haven't dried out now.

It was only raining for twenty minutes, but all of the cycle lanes I passed were completely waterlogged. Cheers Council.
