The tree and decorations are down and in the loft until next Christmas. New flat pack toy cupboard assembled and the little-un's toys tidied away. Boot of car full of stuff to take to the tip tomorrow.

Never heard of twelfth night?

Sort of a tradition on my dad's side of the family. Although a lot of relatives on his side are quite religious it's something they've always done. I think my grandma used to keep the crib out until the 12th night.

I always thought you could take your decorations down at anytime so long as it was before twelfth night, after that it was bad luck.

Mine always come down before twelfth night, onwards and upwards towards the spring now.
