I like Elvis's version, but that is class!
It's a bit odd altogether when you think about it. It's so identified with Elvis, yet it's so clearly written to be sung by a woman.it was written for Big Mama Thornton. Apparently the two songwriters.met up one day afterwards and one mentioned that their song was no 1. "what? Big Mama Thornton's no 1 int the charts". "No, Elvis"". Recounting this he said they were disappointed at first but after a couple of trips to the bank, they got used to it.
