I'm surprised they can't make warm and at least shower proof shoes, I see people raving about various boots being water proof but I don't believe them

I wore woolyboolies and Diadora Chillis last winter and my feet still got icy, just took longer to happen

try the thermal seaslskins I suppose

The only thing that stops my feet from getting cold in the winter is wearing shoes with plenty of room in them, at least a size too big.

i did that last winter (ta for the reminder, i'm now sat here with the gaffa tape and scissors). coupled with mudguards and aldi's overshoes (fortified by being sprayed with scotchguard), i kept my feet dry on the commute most of the time.

scotchguard is useful on winter gloves too. for long rides, i'd make sure that tights/winter trousers sit over the overshoes, and apply some scotchguard to the overlap and a bit above. this might prevent wet feet due to water traveling down the tights/trousers and into the socks.
