Five of us went for a 40-mile ride yesterday. It was wet. Very wet.

My formerly waterproof panniers weren't. My formerly waterproof jacket wasn't. The dry clothes I'd packed for the pub lunch weren't.

I haven't been that wet for a great many years.

But it was fun. And worth it for the looks of utter incredulity we got when the guys at the pub we had lunch asked where we'd come from. :-)

We've had a glorious 48 hours but its changed to wet, wet, wet now and it looks like it'll be that way for a few days.

You should move up north mate. On my 40 mile ride it was sunny, very sunny...so sunny in fact that I had to wear shades

Pretty nippy though despite the sun

Ben, despite the wet weather, at the end of the day I expect that, deep down, you can say you enjoyed the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, was excellent fun, in part due to the sheer ridiculousness of the exercise. :-)
