I asked AI to show the 'real' me.
Was on holiday in the far north of Finland some 250km away from the regional hospital. Had a talk by a reindeer herder who gleefully explained that they had been gored by a stag. The only option was to sew themselves up as waiting for the chopper (if there was one available) was not an option! So how about a needle and thread in your bag? Plus a large single malt as an aesthetic.

When I'm not touring the left pannier remains on the bike all the time (you can tell that by the way one's faded and the other isn't).

In it are:
Toolkit
First aid kit
Lock & chain
Spare tube
Oil
Waterproofs
Spare jumper
Spare jacket
Spare Ron Hills
Whatever food I need for the trip

Untrue. I was hit by a tractor in June. I know I was in the ambulance within 20 minutes.

I was hit by a car in February. I was told to wait several hours (on a freezing cold pavement) or make my own way to hospital.

When my aunt broke her leg she had to wait for five hours at the bottom of her stairs for an ambulance to arrive.

Rubbish.

There have been occasional, exceptional cases where an ambulance has not arrived for several hours. But they are exceptional.

In the vast majority of cases where there appears to be significant injury, an ambulance will be on scene within 10-15 minutes of being called, in a city or town, a bit longer if outside town.

It's not just Birmingham's ambulance service that keeps you waiting in agony with broken bones:
