What 1st Road Bike

Inevitably people who have bought Madones recommend Madones (I often mis-read this as mad ones!) and Defy riders say "get a Defy".

I wonder how many just say that maybe having bought their bike and not liking it, but have to recommend it for fear of feeling like a plonker if they don't.

Probably simpler than that. We all buy stuff we like. But, we are not all the same. Fortunately we like different things. This is just as well or my favourite ski resort would be over crowded; my favourite restaurant would never have a table free and the road to the Swan would be thick with bikes.

I think you folk deserve a bit of a pat on the back to be honest! Other forums I've looked, where things don't seem quite as friendly, also get the asked the question and are often referred to other posts. The last time anyone actually took the time to answer was probably five years ago!

I'm in the process of buying my first road bike and the information you give is excellent! So keep up the good work!
