Just finished my 16 odd mile commute, what a lovely morning for it.

Agree - relatively cold this morning, but extended the commute this morning to do 16 miles too. Looking to do a few extended runs this week as didn't get out at weekend & have the Cheshire Cat on Sun.

Plus Lidl cycle stuff day on Thurs so will extend the commute to pass by one of their stores.

It was cold, but only for my feet, i'm actually in the market for some thermal/windproof socks, if you have any suggestions?

The forecast for this evening is a bit warmer, nice to have to use my sunnies at last!

Sealskinz. I have a pair, although I haven't used them since Feb as they are too warm (but I also wear overshoes-see below).

Do you have overshoes? IMO, you might be better off buying a pair of those 1st as it gives you a little more flexibity in the changeable weather (whip them off if too hot).

Yep lovely day to be out albeit one of those annoying days where I wore a jacket into work but it will be in the backpack for the ride home. Still, it was very sunny and pleasant. Even the drivers seemed to behave themselves.

My last day on the bike for a week though...

I suffered today! 15 mile commute after a dodgy belly on the weekend and no sleep! i need the mileage though and need to get out when i feel rough to get me ready!

some lovely sights though out this morning which made the slower ride more enjoyable!

Frosty as i started off and nippy in the shade. Warmed up to a beautiful sunny finish(and a lap of Hyde Park to take in the sights).

Traffic was also good today and I hit very few red lights so the running was smooth

Freezing when I left home but the roads were dry and had been gritted.
Very sunny this morning, had to be extra careful at some junctions because of having the sun right behind me.

agreed took jacket off half way to work looks like it will stay there for the return as well as the fact i had my blue tints in today first time this year!!

Great morning for it here too, though ride completely spoilt by some idiot in a green Vauxhall at Bottisham who ignored my strong primary on a 90 degree blind bend and overtook anyway in one of the worst, most reckless bits of driving I've seen for a long time. He then did the old brake slam afterwards to try to make me crash- charming. I asked him if he was really as stupid as he looked as I drew level.
Luckily these things are v. rare for me but it does'nt half ruin a ride. Hopefully heading home will be more pleasant as I'm going to try my summer route - mainly along farm tracks and bridleways for the 1st time this year- well away from the motons and after a trip to the pub with a pal too.

Just glorious. Who else but a cyclist would relish getting up and going to work on a Monday like this?

I think that's what I love about cycling the most - I'm in a good mood almost all the time (I'm sure my wife and son would like to think that they also make me happy, but ...)
